  1. Mrs. Kimbrough and Mrs. Donathan,

Thank you so much for the wonderful experience today at London Elementary school! Today was my first time to ever visit London Elementary, and I have to say it has a very welcoming feeling when you walk through the doors. I liked how the class sizes were smaller than most schools. I enjoyed working with the two students I was allowed to meet today. They loved the story I read them and seemed to enjoy the visit as much as I did! Thank you for being so welcoming and opening up your classrooms for our class! It was a great experience!

  2. Mrs. Donathan and Mrs. Kimbrough,
Thank you so much for letting us come into your classrooms today! It's always wonderful for us as students to be able to experience in class time that we can take a child individually and work with them. I loved working with a smaller school and smaller classrooms; it made it feel so warm and cozy really! My little girl Caitlin loved working with me and she even drew me a picture to keep and hugged me several times as I was leaving. It was wonderful to share such a great experience with my classmates in London Elementary School! Thank you again for your time!

  3. Mrs. Donathan and Mrs. Kimbrough,

Thank you for allowing us to visit in your classrooms. It was my first time visiting the London School district and I really enjoyed the experience. The Elementary had such a welcoming feeling that was really nice to experience. I loved being able to see a smaller classroom and seeing the different class management skills that are used for a smaller group of student. I loved being able to read and work with the students! My student was more than willing to work with me and let me read to him. Thanks again!

  4. Mrs. Kimbrough and Mrs. Donathan,
Thank you for allowing all of us to come into your classrooms! I was in Mrs. Kimbrough's room and I loved that you had the name sticks! We've just started seeing those for classroom management and I love that I could see that applied in the classroom! Seeing your classrooms was really eye-opening! Every classroom I walk into is so different! Thank you for sharing with us how you can really work with the children in the set up you have. Individually working with and getting to know the child I had was exceptional! The student I had the pleasure of working with really enjoyed our story! I thought the questions Mrs. Kimbrough gave me were really helpful! I also liked that you came around and checked on us! Coming into a new classroom can be kind of intimidating and I really appreciated that you came around and made us feel welcome! Again, thank you ladies so much for allowing us in your room for this extremely beneficial experience!

  5. Mrs. Kimbrough and Mrs. Donathan,
I had an awesome visit with you, the students, and the school! Thank you for the opportunity to work hands on in the classroom, observe, and listen to information and tips about your experiences as teachers. This is very beneficial to us all! I brought a book with a plan in mind that I would read to the student, but to my surprise she read the entire book to me! Very impressive! It demonstrated to me, as one of the teachers mentioned, that planning is the key...but it doesn't always go as planned. This experience overall was a success and I am so glad that I had the chance to visit. Thank you!

  6. Mrs. Kimbrough and Mrs. Donathan,
Thank you both for opening your classrooms to us for this learning experience! I was in Mrs. Donathan's room and really enjoyed working one-on-one with the student I was paired with. She seemed engaged with the activity and wrote a whole page for me afterward. You both are very sweet ladies, and I appreciate you answering our questions and talking to us about the experience you both have as teachers. I am observing this semester in a London classroom and have to agree with what Mrs. Kimbrough said about the "home-feel" of the school. I felt that immediately when I entered on my first day! I love the school already and this experience only added to that love. Again Thank you both!

  7. Mrs. Kimbrough and Mrs. Donathan,
Thank you for allowing us to come into your classroom and work with your students. The students that I worked with were very respectful and polite. I was impressed with the attention that they paid to the story and the extent of their comprehension. This was a great experience. I also appreciate the two of you taking the time to allow us to ask questions. Nothing prepares us for actual teaching better than hearing it from teachers like you who are in it every day. Thanks, again, for allowing us this experience.

  8. Mrs. Kimbrough and Mrs. Donathan,

Thank you for allowing us to interact with your students on an individual basis. I am really glad that we where able to work one-on-one with the students. As soon as I walked into Mrs. Kimbrough's room, I felt welcomed. I absolutely adored the student that I was able to work one-on-one with. The first thing she said to me was, "you're pretty." That really made me feel good when she said that. My student was very familiar with the book that I choose to read. I thought was going to be an issue, but it was not. She was very attentive to me while I read the book again. Additionally, she was very receptive to me when I explained a couple words that were unfamiliar to her. I was impressed with how well my student wrote. She was very familiar with the editing process. I also loved how she used the book to spell difficult words and to help her remember key details in the story. Furthermore, while she was writing, if she used the book to spell a difficult word she would just refer back to the original spelling of the word in her paragraph. I also appreciated you both taking your lunch hour to answer our questions. This experience was very enriching for me. Thank you both again for giving us this wonderful opportunity to work with your students.

  9. Mrs. Kimbrough and Mrs. Donathan,

Thank you for allowing us time in your classrooms to get some one-on-one experience with your students. I got so much enjoyment out of working with the student I was paired with. She really seemed to enjoy the book I brought to share, and I was impressed with how much she could retell from it with very little help from me. She already knew, mostly, what "main idea" meant when I got there and really seemed to be able to apply it when we were through reading the story. She even wrote a whole page for me and her writing skills, spelling skills, and penmanship were fantastic! I also learned a lot afterwards when we all came together and asked questions. It was motivating to see recent Tech graduates in their own classrooms. Once again, thank you both for allowing my class this experience!

  10. Mrs. Kimbrough and Mrs. Donathan,

When I walked in the front doors of the London Elementary School I felt right at home. The school had such a comfortable atmosphere and a genuine feeling of family. Coming from a small hometown and a school of only 400 students, I felt wonderful being at London. The small class size is every teacher’s dream! Thank you so much for opening up your doors to us and letting us interact with your students. The experiences we are gaining from visiting the schools are truly molding us into better teachers. I loved working individually with one of Mrs. Donathan’s second grade students. We are all thankful for your time and your answers to all of our questions.

  11. Thank you for providing such a positive learning experience for future educators. Like many others have stated, London Elementary offers a unique, warm welcome to its visitors. After visiting the school one time, I consider it one of my favorite schools in Russellville. One thing I liked most about Mrs. Donathan’s class was the student-friendly atmosphere. In this class, there was definitely a clear vision of what you wanted for your students.

  12. Mrs. Kimrough and Mrs. Donathan,
Thank you so much for allowing us to work with your students. It is a great experience for us to be able to work with the studetns individually. I apprieciate the opinion of a teacher that is actually working in the classroom and interacting with the real experiance daily. Things do not always go as planned and it was nice to hear that adjustments are constantly being done. Once again, thank you so much for your time.

  13. Mrs. Kimbrough and Mrs. Donathan,

My classmates and I thoroughly enjoyed visiting your classrooms and working one-on-one with your students. I was very impressed with how respectful and eager to learn Mrs. Donathan's students were. They each seemed genuinely happy to have us there. Isabella, the second grade student I had the pleasure of working with, is so smart and I really enjoyed reading with her. We truly appreciate all of the insight and knowledge you both shared with us about your daily experiences as professionals. It is always very valuable for us to see how things operate in a real classroom setting. Thank you so much for the time you spent visiting with us and for giving us such a warm welcome into your classrooms. London Elementary is a wonderful school!

  14. Thank you so much Mrs. Donathan and Mrs. Kimbrough for allowing our class to come and work one-on-one with your students this past Friday! I thought this was a wonderful experience for me and all of my classmates! I really enjoyed being able to experience working with my student and actually being able to take part of conducting a child's learning. We have not been given such an experience yet outside of some practicum classes, and it was wonderful to be able to participate in this. I really appreciate both of you, your students, and school staff for allowing us this wonderful experience! It was great to be in an actual school/classroom setting and interact with the you and the students. Thank you so much for taking time out of your instruction time for us! Also, I really enjoyed the overall feel of London Elementary School! When I walked into the school, I felt a great sense of welcoming and community! Thank you so much London Elementary for allowing this great experience and insight!

  15. Mrs. Donathan and Mrs. Kimbrough,

Thank you so much for taking the time to mentor our Block II class. As a student, it was nice to see two teachers who went through the early childhood program at Arkansas Tech recently! The one-on-one mini reading lesson was not something I have been able to experience in the program, so it was nice to practice. I enjoyed visiting London Elementary and was impressed with your responses to our questions. Seeing new teachers gave me encouragement as graduation comes near. Thank you again!

    Sincerely,
    Morgan Willis

  16. Thank you so much Mrs. Kimbrough and Mrs. Donathan for allowing our class to work with your students and visit your classroom. I really enjoyed working with my student. They are very bright children and smart for their age. I was very impressed by the one on one lesson I had with my student. The discussion afterwards was very helpful and gave me insight on how modifications are made for lessons. I also learned a lot about procedures during standardized test taking time. You all were very sweet and polite to share your knowledge with us!

  17. Mrs. Donathan and Mrs. Kimbrough,

I am so thankful for the opportunity that you have given us to enter your classrooms and allow us to interact with the students during the one-on-one mini reading lessons. It was something I had not experienced yet and has given me a little insight of how to prepare the next time I must do this. I am also thankful for the time you allowed us to ask questions about your experience as teachers and graduates of Tech. As a soon to be teacher it was really helpful to get some advice on how to approach the schools and what to expect. Once again, thank you so much for the opportunity.

    Thank you

Thank you for letting us come into your classrooms! This was my first time to visit London Elementary. The atmosphere at the school was very welcoming! The class size was smaller than other classrooms we have visited, and I really enjoyed it. The students I worked with seems to enjoy the story that I read to them and enjoyed their experience just as much as I did. As a Tech student, it was great for me to see two teachers who have recently went through the ECED program. Once again, thank you for opening up your classroom to our class.

  19. Thank you Mrs. Kimbrough and Mrs. Donathan for hosting out class from Tech and allowing us to interact with your students. Most of us get to see teachers do asmall group reading lesson in our observations, but most , if any, do not get to do one themselves. In that aspect, your letting us come into your classroom was a big help. I finally got to do a reading lesson one on one and not with a with a large group. The student I was paired with was very bright and knew what the topics were when I asked her( i.e main ideas, settings). This is a testement to their teachers who work with them everyday. I am thankful for all teachers who have hosted me in whatever way through the years. It is helpful to see different styles and techniques. Even though we were there for a short time, the help you have provided will prove to be invaluable. Thank you both very much.

  23. Mrs. Kimbrough and Mrs. Donathan,
Thank you so much for letting us work with your students for a short time. I loved every minute of it. I'm always humbled when I get some time to work one on one with a student. The little girl I had was so sweet and she just took me by the hand and took me where she wanted to read, and she did just that. She was so smart and knew all of the answers I asked her. That shows just how awesome and amazing the teachers are at London. I was very impressed by how small the classrooms were but more impressed with how you made it work for you both. You both made use of what you were given and that is awesome. I absolutely love the small town family feel that the school has going on. I love it that everyone knows everyone.
Thank you so much for taking time for us!
